CARDIFF (Snitzel x Cariad)
A new addition to the OTL Stable – Cardiff has moved from the city to the country and will look to revive his career under the watchful eye of Kody Nestor. Cardiff will initially be aimed at such events at the TAB Highway with aspirations of going onto the Country Championships
BON ALLEN (Bon Hoffa x Star Of Ice)
When What A Party retired we needed another rock star to take over and Bon Allen has filled that role with plenty of pizazz. The unpredictable yearling matured into a problematic 2YO before settling into a professional racehorse with speed to burn. He has early speed and broke his maiden at Quirindi before being tested in a Tab Highway where he matched motors for a long way with the up and coming She Knows. He stepped back in grade at Muswellbrook and showed that will to win running away from them after looking in trouble at the 300m.
Bon Allen had a close 2nd in a TAB Highway, nosed out on the line that day.
Bon Allen has sinced retired to Banool Park after ongoing injuries.
PERASINO (Casino Prince x Pergram)
Your first horse is always the most memorable and we were lucky enough to experience our first winner with PERASINO. Initially bought and trained Bjorn Baker (Warwick Farm) for $60k at the Magic Millions yearling sales the Casino Filly was moved on after failing as favourite at Scone. We continued to celebrate her career as she went through preparation with Thomas Elmes (Scone), Scott Spackman (Wagga) and Wayne Francis & Glen Kent (Strathalbyn).
She raced at Gr2 level in the Light Fingers at Randwick before winning her maiden at Narrandera. As she matured the 1400-1600m looked like her marker and her second winner came at Murray Bridge in a BM55 with Matthew Poon aboard.
Perasino showed alot of promise throughout her career but her head let her down and you never really knew which Nikki was going to show up. In the end she was retired due to an airway issue and we reflect with fondness as a 10% share open the doors to the industry for Over The Line Racing
WHAT A PARTY (Sippin’ Bourbon x Knickers In A Knot)
The 900m specialist from Scone had unbelievable speed over 500m but generally ran out of gas as pure determination left his not far away in the finish. What A Party was donated to the Thomas Elmes stable the beautiful lady Alma Middlebrook from Dungog. We shared the experience with family and friends and got to celebrate him breaking his maiden over the 900m on the home surface as a 7YO gelding. He ticked over nicely throughout his career winning at Wean and placing on multiple occasions. He is now retired with the Elmes family and keeping the next generation of race horses in check has become his new job as he enjoys the paddock.
MALLEABLE (Bel Danoro x Limbea)
This war horse from Kempsey had plenty of success with Barry Ratcliff before being purchased the Spackman yard. We love the country cups and when the opportunity came to race a seasoned stayer in the bush we jumped at it. The 8YO gelding could carry a stack of weight and finished 2nd in the Young Cup with 72kg aboard before winning the Hay Cup on the dirt. He won us our first country cup and is now retired after a great career that saw him salute at 100/1 in the 2017 Sawtell Cup.
DUTIFUL (New Approach x Sincere)
This ownership opportunity came the way of a lease and we sure had some fun here. Scott Spackman had high hopes for the ex-Darley flyer and she broke her maiden in style on a bog in Gundagai as the $2.20 favourite. We never got to see her potential as retirement came early at the 2017 Wagga Carnival with the flashy chestnut storming home to finish 2nd in the showcase C1. She is loving life as a broodmare in the upper hunter and we can’t wait to see the progeny she produces.
ROAMING TO WIN (Northern Meteor x Exciting To Win)
Roaming To Win may lack a little bit of size but this is made up a will to win as she enjoyed racing in the Riverina. Scott Spackman bought the then filly from the Snowden stable after a couple of average trials in town. She matured nicely and broke through at Albury over the mile after threatening on many occasions leading into it. She was never far away in most starts although wasn’t up to the mark towards the end of her career with us.
DESERT GREY (Grey Swallow x Desert Reason)
Jared Wehlow Racing was our first trainer who took a chance with Over The Line Racing and we have enjoyed a successful association since. He is well established in Rockhampton and with years on his side we can’t wait to see how this story evolves. Jared has an eye for a bargain and regularly buys horses from the south to contest in North Queensland where they generally thrive. We love racing horses and to do it with your own clients is a real thrill.
HYLONOME (Star Witness x Roadstop)
Hylonome started her career in great style, winning 2 out of her first 3 starts. A very consistent mare who’s career was cut short after suffering a injury at trackwork.
